Prof. Paolo Sàndano is the curator of the Archivio Opera Olinsky, based in Milan. The archive is responsible for cataloguing, promoting and protecting the painter’s work: it gathers the paintings, reconstructs their history and issues certificates of authenticity.
He also wrote the artist’s biography: from his birth in Slavateck in 1886, the eleventh child of a grain merchant, to his encounter with an issue of Mickey Mouse at the Gare de Lyon, and on to Hollywood, Venice, New York and Milan.
In his youth Olinsky took on the myth of Hercules, painting numerous panels devoted to the twelve labours. This is why Sàndano presents him to the community of artists gathered around Ercole for L’arte è una fatica inutile.
